Ross Taylor Draws Series With A Wicket!

Ross Taylor ends his Test career with his 3rd wicket and a series leveling win for New Zealand. They leveled the 2 match series against Bangladesh with 2 days to spare.

New Zealand came after a historic defeat to the hands of Bangladesh last week. This time however in Hagley Over, a change of fortunes happened to New Zealand, who were dominant with both bat and ball to crush Bangladesh by an Innings and 117 runs.

Batting first, New Zealand put a massive 521/6d with captain Tom Latham leading the way with 252. This was his first batting milestone as captain. Devon Conway also hit a fine century. Will Young and Tom Blundell also contributed with their fifties. Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam took 2 wickets each.

Bangladesh got off to a horrid start and were bundled out for 126. Only Yasir Ali and Nurul Hasan made double figures of 55 and 41. Trent Boult picked a 5fer and became only the fourth New Zealand bowler to pass the 300 wicket milestone in Test Cricket.

Following on, Bangladesh did slightly better with Liton Das making a well deserved century. However, it was a lonely show as the 20s and 30s by the other batters could not stop the New Zealand bowlers from getting the better off them. They were bundled out for 278 runs. Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner shared 7 wickets between them.

The final over of the day was the most dramatic as Tom Latham asked Ross Taylor to bowl. With the cheers from the team mates and the crowd, he dismissed the last batter and won New Zealand the game. This is only the third instance where a retiring player in Test cricket, picked the last wicket in his final game. Tom Latham won the man of the match and Devon Conway won the man of the series,
