Sri Lanka Under 19s register first warm up win

The Sri Lanka Under 19s beat Ireland Under 19 by 128 runs in their 1st warm up match. This was a 43 over game and 14 players were allowed to play, with 11 each for batting and fielding.

Sri Lanka Under 19s batted first after Ireland won the toss and batted well. Shevon Daniel registered 75 runs and retired. The other batters chipped in with useful runs to make a decent total of 233 runs for 7.

The bowling saw the Sri Lanka youth decimate Ireland to just 105 runs. The spinners and pacers shared 5 wickets each in their short 4 over bowling spells to give match practice to all players. John Cox top scored with 44 and Scott Beth was the only other Irish player to make double figures.

The next warm up match will be played tomorrow against Uganda Under 19. The first group match is against Scotland Under 19 on the 14th.
