Suranga Lakmal Announces Retirement

It has been announced that Sri Lanka fast bowler and 4th highest wicket taker in Test Cricket for Sri Lanka, Suranga Lakmal, will retire from all formats of international cricket after the tour against India.

Suranga Lakmal has been a frontline pacer with more than 160 wickets throughout his career. He has been mostly successful in away matches and is one of the most successful Asian pacers in SENA countries with 5 wicket hauls except in England. He has a 5fer in West Indies as well and has even led Sri Lanka to beat West Indies in Kensington, the only time an Asian team beat West Indies in that ground.

Suranga Lakmal’s first tour was the 2009 Test series against Pakistan which ended in an unfortunate manner and even sustains a internal injury in his leg. He once said that post retirement, he would want to get it treated.

Derbyshire CCC

It is announced by Derbyshire CCC, which is head coached by former Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur. that he has signed a 2 year contract. He is waiting for approval on VISA and by ECB.
