New Zealand Pull Out Of 2022 U19 World Cup; Scotland To Play with Sri Lanka

New Zealand have announced that they will not take part in the U19 World Cup which is to be held in the West Indies in the year 2022. This is mainly due to the quarantine restrictions in place for minors when returning back home to New Zealand.

It has been noted that Scotland will be the replacement team for Group D, which consists of other teams like West Indies, Australia, and Sri Lanka. Scotland, who initially missed qualification in the Europe qualifiers, become the 16th team to participate.

The tournament is scheduled to get underway on 14th January 2022 and will see the hosts and Australia clashing in the opener. This is also the first time the Caribbean region will see an Under 19 World Cup being hosted.
