Kishan stars as India runs away with 62 run win

Sri Lanka lost heavily by 62 runs against India in the 1st T20. Ishan Kishan was awarded the man of the match for his 89 runs.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. Captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan were scoring left and right. They put up a 111 run partnership until Lahiru Kumara bowled out the captain.

Ishan missed on his century but Iyer kept scoring and ended with a 25 ball 50. India scored 199 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets and the Sri Lankan bowlers went quite expensive today.

A horrid first ball duck for Sri Lanka’s best ranked Pathum Nissanka saw Sri Lanka in deep trouble early on. Youngesters Kamil Mishara and Janith Liyanage stuggled and Charith Asalanka kept on losing partners.

Only Chamika Karunaratne and Dushmantha Chameera managed to reach their 20s while Asalanka finished on an unbeaten 53 runs. Chameera’s cameo came a bit too late as Sri Lanka finished with only 137 for 6.
