Sri Lanka rising star and World Number 1 T20I bowler Wanindu Hasaranga has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year.
Wanindu has taken 36 wickets this year in T20Is, the most in a calendar year. He also picked up 16 wickets in this year’s T20 World Cup, a record highest. He even took a hat trick against South Africa. He has also been in the ranks as an all rounder and has contributed with the bat as well.
Other nominees are Jos Buttler of England, Mohomad Rizwan of Pakistan and Mitchell Marsh of Australia. The winners will be announced next month.
