SLT Speedup Cycle Sawariya ceremonially commenced at the Galle Face Green yesterday the Tuesday
24 th September. Group Chairman of SLT Kumarasinghe Sirisena, Chief Executive Officer of SLT
Kiththi Perera, Chief Operating Officer of SLT Priyantha Fernandez, Chief Marketing Officer
of SLT . Prabhath Dahanayake and the President of the Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL),
N. Karunaratne presented at the event along with a number of distinguished guests, SLT’s senior
management and officers of CFSL, Sri Lanka Police and Sri Lanka Telecom.
The cycle race travelled through Panadura, Rathnapura, and marked the finish line at Embilipitiya. The
winner of the day 1 was Sandun Kumara of Sri Lanka Navy team. The 1 st and the 2 nd runners-up are
Sujith Hasantha of Sri Lanka Port Authority team and Chamod De Silva of Sri Lanka Port Authority
team respectively.
The second day of the race starts at 9am today from Embilipitiya and will travel through Welawaya and
will reach Bandarawela.
