Anas Ahamed of Royal Slicers Sports Club and Tasmila Kavindi of the Sri Lanka Air Force emerged champions in the men’s and women’s singles events respectively at the President’s Cup Carrom Championship 2026.
Ahamed produced a composed and determined performance throughout the tournament to secure the men’s singles title, overcoming a strong field of leading carrom players representing clubs and institutions from across the country.
His victory underlined the growing strength of Royal Slicers Sports Club in Sri Lanka’s competitive carrom arena, while also highlighting Ahamed’s consistency and ability to perform under pressure at a major national championship.
In the women’s singles, Sri Lanka Air Force player Tasmila Kavindi displayed excellent control and competitive determination to claim the championship. Kavindi maintained her composure during the crucial stages of the competition to finish at the top of a highly competitive women’s field.
The President’s Cup Carrom Championship brought together some of the country’s leading players, providing a valuable platform for experienced competitors as well as emerging talent.
The performances of Ahamed and Kavindi will further strengthen their credentials on the national carrom circuit, while their respective victories add another significant chapter to the 2026 season.
The championship also demonstrated the continued popularity and competitive depth of carrom in Sri Lanka, with players from sports clubs, armed forces and other institutions competing for national honours.
