Galle Gallants won a thrilling match against Colombo Kaps by 13 runs in the 19th match of the Lanka Premier League at Pallekele.
Batting first, the Gallants scored a strong 201/6 in 20 overs. Charith Asalanka led the innings with a brilliant 58 runs, while Sahan Arachchige added 43. Captain Dasun Shanaka finished in style with an unbeaten 21 from just 8 balls.
In reply, Colombo Kaps fought hard. Sadeera Samarawickrama made 37, Ben McDermott scored 38, and Malsha Tharupathi played an exciting knock of 36. However, Mohammad Nawaz’s excellent spell of 3 wickets for 24 runs helped the Gallants keep control.
The Kaps were all out for 188 in 19.4 overs, giving Galle Gallants a well-earned 13 run victory.
