Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) has named a 12-member national Under-20 Women’s Sevens squad to represent the country at the 2026 Asia Rugby Under-20 Sevens Championship, scheduled to be held in India later this month.
The squad was selected following trials held on November 2 at the CR & FC grounds in Colombo.
The Under-20 programme is considered a vital component in developing the next generation of women’s rugby players in Sri Lanka. Regular exposure to international competition is expected to provide these young players with valuable experience, enhance their skills and prepare them for future opportunities in the senior national team.
Sri Lanka Rugby’s continued efforts to promote women’s rugby, from grassroots and school-level participation to the national youth setup, are aimed at strengthening the country’s position in Asian women’s rugby.
