Jofra Archer and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi destroy Hyderabad to power Rajasthan into Qualifier 2

Riyan Parag’s captaincy has quietly become one of Rajasthan Royals’ biggest strengths this season. After RR’s emphatic Eliminator win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, the skipper praised the team effort but also highlighted areas where the side can still improve despite scoring 243 runs.

“I like to be a perfectionist. Even today, we should have gotten 260,” Parag admitted after the match. However, he was highly impressed with the bowling unit for staying calm under pressure and controlling SRH’s dangerous batting lineup.

Parag also revealed how the team handles young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. “We don’t have any conversations. Just leave him alone, let him go and have fun,” he said. The captain explained that RR simply gives the teenager enough batting practice and freedom to express himself naturally.

The Royals now enter Qualifier 2 with momentum firmly on their side after winning crucial back-to-back knockout-style games. Their familiarity with conditions in Mullanpur could also prove to be a huge advantage against Gujarat Titans as they chase a place in the IPL 2026 final.

While Vaibhav Sooryavanshi grabbed the headlines with the bat, Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers ensured the team completed a dominant all-round performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Jofra Archer set the tone early by striking in the powerplay and removing key batters including Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. His pace and discipline never allowed SRH to settle in the chase of 244.
