Omega Line and the Sri Lanka Air Force ‘B’ team won the titles in the Open Women’s and Open Men’s categories, respectively, at the National Beach Volleyball Championship jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and the Wattala Pradeshiya Sabha. Held at the Sarakkuwa beach in Wattala, the tournament saw the participation of over 100 teams representing the armed forces, the police, state and private sports clubs, and schools from across the country.
In this tournament, the Walasmulla National School team won the championship in the Men’s Under-23 category, while the Sri Lanka Air Force secured the title in the Women’s category. Mr. Sajeewa Medawatta, President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (Western Province), stated that this exciting tournament was organized with the aim of boosting the tourism industry and paving the way for young athletes to showcase their skills and advance to the national level.
