The LPL returned to Pallekele with an exciting match as Jaffna Kings defeated Colombo Kaps by 19 runs. Batting first, Jaffna Kings scored a strong 202/5 in 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran led the innings with a brilliant 95, while Kamil Mishara gave the team a quick start with 44. Towhid Hridoy finished the innings in style with an unbeaten 31 from just 8 balls.
In reply, Colombo Kaps fought hard but could only reach 183/9. Sadeera Samarawickrama top scored with 44, while Kamindu Mendis(28), Milan Rathnayaka(26) and James Neesham(19) made useful contributions. However, Jaffna’s bowlers kept taking wickets at important moments. Dilshan Madushanka claimed three wickets, helping Jaffna Kings secure an impressive victory in the first LPL match at Pallekele this season.
