Power-hitting specialist Julian Wood completed his week-long training programme with the Sri Lanka cricketers and coaches yesterday. Both National men’s and women’s team players got chance to get the services from Julian Wood during this short training and it will be a great experience for all National players for their upcoming cricket series.
Sri Lanka Cricket decided to obtain Julian’s services aimed at enhancing the power-hitting skills of both the men’s and women’s national players. Wood worked closely with the National coaches to help players sharpen their hitting techniques and improve their overall power game.
The creator of the innovative ‘Power Hitting Programme’ Wood combines cricketing techniques with training methods and bio-mechanics to enhance players’ hitting power.
Wood, the architect of the globally recognized ‘Power Hitting Programme’ has previously worked with elite teams including the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Middlesex and IPL franchise Punjab Kings. His methods blend traditional cricket skills with performance science, positioning players to deliver maximum impact in limited overs formats.
Sri Lanka Cricket has recently focused on specialised coaching roles to enhance player development. The initiative comes as part of Sri Lanka’s broader preparations for upcoming international fixtures, notably the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the Asia Cup, and other major events on the global calendar.
