SL v BAN, 2nd T20I – Bangladesh’s brilliance outshines Sri Lanka

Bangladesh showed their dominance as they celebrated a stunning 8-wicket win over Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Sri Lankan batting unit did not succeed in the second T20I game at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. Kamindu Mendis was the highest scorer for Sri Lanka as he scored 37 runs off 27 balls. Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews also contributed 36 and 32 runs respectively to the Sri Lankan innings. Taskin Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, and Soumya Sarkar took one wicket each for Bangladesh and limited Sri Lanka innings to 165/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy built up an 87-run partnership, guiding Bangladesh to victory with 11 balls to spare. Matheesha Pathirana was the only wicket taker for Sri Lanka as he took 2 wickets.
