Sri Lanka name 12-member Girls’ Sevens squad for Asian Under-20 Championship

Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) has named a 12-member national Under-20 Women’s Sevens squad to represent the country at the 2026 Asia Rugby Under-20 Sevens Championship, scheduled to be held in India later this month.

The squad was selected following trials held on November 2 at the CR & FC grounds in Colombo.

The Under-20 programme is considered a vital component in developing the next generation of women’s rugby players in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Rugby’s continued efforts to promote women’s rugby, from grassroots and school-level participation to the national youth setup, are aimed at strengthening the country’s position in Asian women’s rugby.
