Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued an order today (Sept. 16) to immediately arrest former cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife and produce them before the court.
The Magistrate issued this order because Aravinda de Silva and his wife—who are the twin sister of Aravinda de Silva’s wife and the wife of the late Kapila Chandrasena, respectively—failed to appear in court when the case they had filed to withdraw as sureties in a prior case involving Priyanka Neoma was called.
That order was issued because no submissions were made regarding their failure to appear in court when the case was called.
At that time, submissions were due to be made on behalf of the sureties in the case.
