Indian Test team to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 4th after six years.

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 4th of next month to play two Test matches. This marks the return of an Indian Test team to the country after six years; the last visit was in 2017, when the Test squad led by Virat Kohli achieved a clean sweep of the series, winning 3–0.
The first Test match of the ICC World Test Championship series between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be held at the Galle International Cricket Stadium from August 15 to 19, while the second Test match will take place at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) ground in Colombo from August 23 to 27. Prior to the Test series, the Indian cricket team is set to play a four-day warm-up match at the NCC ground in Colombo from August 7 to 10.
The first Test match between India and Sri Lanka began in Chennai on September 17, 1982, and ended in a draw. On September 6, 1985, at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka defeated India by 149 runs, marking the team's first-ever historic Test match victory. The most recent Test match between the two nations took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru starting on March 12, 2022, resulting in a 238-run victory for India.
A total of 46 Test matches have been played between India and Sri Lanka; India won 22 of them, while Sri Lanka won 7. Notably, all seven of Sri Lanka's victories were achieved on home soil—three at the Galle International Stadium, and two each at the SSC and the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium in Colombo. Seventeen Test matches between the two teams ended in a draw.
