The Sri Lankan women’s cricket team left for England

The Sri Lankan women's cricket team, which will be participating in the Women's Twenty20 World Cup in England, left for England this morning. Spinner Shashini Gimhani, who was part of the Chamari Atapattu-led women's team, was withdrawn at the last minute due to injury, and fast bowler Chethana Vimukthi has joined the team in her place. The 17-year-old Shashini Gimhani has been referred for medical treatment after undergoing a scan

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Atapattu said that the Sri Lankan team, which will be participating in the World Cup tournament to be held in England and Wales from the 12th of this month to the 5th of July, will face it with good confidence. Speaking at a media conference held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday, she said that there is a good chance of reaching the semi-finals.
“England has a good pitch for fast bowling. I think we will score more runs in every match. Every player should play well in this series. There are 4 fast bowlers in the team. We should beat England and New Zealand. Our new coach is very positive. He has given freedom to the batsmen. We can do something good with that change,” said Chamari Atapattu.
"You can't promise to bring the World Cup when you go to England. Because you can't bring a World Cup from a store. You have to play well and beat your opponents. We can do that," said the Sri Lankan cricket captain.

Imesha Dulani, a talented forward batsman who recently joined the team, said that even though this is her first World Cup, she is ready to play without pressure.
