The current President of the Sri Lanka Football , who is contesting to the top post of NOCSL,  Jaswar Umar has outlined a clear and progressive vision for the future of the National Olympic Committee, focusing on transparency, athlete welfare, and stronger collaboration with National Federations. He is one of the top candidates to take over the Presidency.

His Presidency bid is centred on building a modern sporting culture that places athletes at the heart of every decision while ensuring good governance across all levels.

One of his key priorities is to create a more athlete-focused system. He believes athletes must be given better opportunities, stronger representation, and direct access to decision-making platforms. By improving athlete welfare and ensuring fair support systems, he aims to help sportsmen and women perform at their highest level both locally and internationally.

Umar also emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability within the Olympic movement. He plans to review and strengthen constitutional structures, governance protocols, and operational systems to create greater trust and professionalism. Aligning with Olympic values, he wants to ensure that administration is efficient, fair, and free from unnecessary political influence.

Another major focus is stronger athlete development and support for National Federations. He proposed better funding systems, proper resource allocation, and improved monitoring mechanisms so that federations can function more effectively. His goal is to ensure resources are used efficiently for athlete growth and long-term sporting success.

He also highlighted the need for open dialogue and active collaboration with all National Federations. Through regular consultations and inclusive discussions, he believes stakeholders can directly shape policies and national sporting strategies.

His vision is also built around capacity building and infrastructure development, with emphasis on training, education, and leadership programs. His mission is to create a stronger, united, and internationally respected Olympic movement for the future.
