2021 busy year for Sri Lanka Cricket

Although the year 2020 will have a severe impact on all sports globally due to Kovid, even if the sport continues under that condition, it cannot be stopped. Due to this situation, this year (2021) has become a very busy year for the Sri Lankan cricket team as well.

This year England, Bangladesh, Ireland, India, South Africa, Scotland and Afghanistan are scheduled to visit Sri Lanka for cricket tournaments. Sri Lanka will also play in several tournaments in the West Indies, Bangladesh and England.

The Sri Lankan team will have to prepare for the Asia Cup to be hosted by Sri Lanka, the T20 World Cup in India as well as the T10 tournament in Sri Lanka as well as the Ceylon Premier League cricket tournament.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka will have to play 8 Tests, 15 ODIs and 12 T20I matches with each team this year alone. In addition, Sri Lanka will also take part in the aforementioned Asian Cup, T20 World Cup.

May / June – Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh (3 ODIs)
June – Asia Cup Cricket Tournament hosted by Sri Lanka
June / July – Sri Lanka tour of England (ODI 3)
July – India tour of Sri Lanka (T20 matches 3)
July / August – Second edition of the Ceylon Premier League Cricket Tournament
August / September – South Africa tour of Sri Lanka (3 ODIs, 3 T20I matches)
September / October – Scotland tour of Sri Lanka (T20 matches 3)
October / November – World Twenty20 in India
November / December – Afghanistan tour of Sri Lanka (3 ODIs)
December – T10 Cricket Tournament in Sri Lanka
