Ayomal breaks a 26-year-old Sri Lankan record

Competing in the 400m hurdles event at the Asian U-23 Athletics Championships held in China, Sri Lanka's Ayomal delivered an outstanding performance and succeeded in breaking a national record that had stood for 26 years.
Ayomal set a new Sri Lankan record by finishing the race in 49.03 seconds.
The record was previously held by Harijan Rathnayake, who had established the national record by clocking 49.44 seconds at the Asian Athletics Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on August 31, 2000.
