RCB v SRH– MATCH 01 | IPL 2026

The first match of the IPL 2026 started with an exciting contest as Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets at their home ground.
Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a strong total of 201 for 9 in 20 overs. Captain Ishan Kishan played an outstanding innings, scoring 80 runs off just 38 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. He got good support from Aniket Verma, who made a quick 43 from 18 balls, and Heinrich Klaasen, who added 31 runs. However, RCB bowlers did well to control the innings in parts. Jacob Duffy was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for just 22 runs. Romario Shepherd also picked up 3 wickets.
Chasing 202, Royal Challengers Bengaluru came out aggressively. Virat Kohli led the chase with a brilliant unbeaten 69 off 38 balls. Devdutt Padikkal played a crucial knock of 61 runs from just 26 balls, giving RCB strong momentum. Captain Rajat Patidar added a quick 31 off 12 balls, which helped RCB stay ahead of the required run rate. In the end, RCB comfortably reached the target in just 15.4 overs, finishing at 203 for 4.
