Zimbabwe reached the top of the Group B points table after defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets.
Sri Lanka came to bat first and built a competitive total. Pathum Nissanka led the innings with a solid 62 runs off 41 balls. Kusal Perera gave a fast start with 22 runs, while Pavan Rathnayake played an attacking knock of 44 runs. Eventually, Sri Lanka finished with 178 for 7 in 20 overs.
For Zimbabwe, Graeme Cremer, Blessing Muzarabani, and Brad Evans took important wickets and controlled the scoring.
Chasing 179 runs, Zimbabwe showed confidence from the beginning. Brian Bennett stayed unbeaten on 63 runs. Captain Sikandar Raza scored a powerful 45 runs. With good support from the middle order, Zimbabwe chased the target 3 balls to spare.
