The Sri Lankan athletes who participated in the 46th Indian Kubido Karate Training Camp and Championship organized jointly by Nihonsaki Karate Association and Sports Association of India have won 6 gold medals and one silver medal.
The students of Dewalpola Anandiya School and Hunumulla Maha Vidyalaya of Minuwangoda Region who participated in the tournament held recently in Mumbai, India, won gold medals.
There, Sadev Induwara won the gold medal in the speech section and the silver medal in the kumite section, while Gauri Shashiprabha won the gold medals in both the speech and kumite categories, and Ayodhya Hirushan won the gold medals in both the categories.
In addition, Shihan Priyantha Perera, who worked as the coach of these players, competed in the senior division and won a gold medal.
