An outstanding night for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they defeated Delhi Capitals by 67 runs and climbed to the top 2 position on the points table in the 35th match of IPL 2024.
The match began with Delhi Capitals electing to field first. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma started their fiery innings, building a partnership of 131 runs off 38 balls for Sunrisers. Head scored a quick 82 runs while Abhishek Sharma just missed the fastest fifty records when he was at 46 runs off 12 balls. Kuldeep Yadav picked up 4 wickets for Delhi, and Sunrisers managed to score 266/7 in 20 overs.
Chasing the challenging target, Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 65 runs off 18 balls and guided Delhi Capitals to the winning track but Sunrisers restricted Delhi Capitals to 199 in 19.1 overs. T Natarajan showed his best figures in IPL as he took 4 wickets for 19 runs.
