SRH got off to a brilliant start after opting to bat first. Abhishek Sharma scored 67 runs off 36 balls, along with Heinrich Klaasen’s unbeaten 53 runs off just 27 balls, helping SRH to post 197/6 in 20 overs. For DC, Mitchell Marsh took 4 wickets for 27 runs and was awarded player of the match.
Chasing 198 to win, Phil Salt and Mitchell Marsh scored 59 and 63 runs respectively for DC. However, they could only manage to score 188/6 in their overs. This was the second time DC faced SRH in IPL 2023. Eventually, SRH won by 9 runs.
