Punjab Kings skipper Sam Curran won the toss and opted to field first. Suryakumar Yadav’s 78 runs off 53 balls powered the Mumbai Indians to a total of 192/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Harshal Patel took 3 wickets, and Sam Curran took 2 wickets for Punjab.
Chasing the target, Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah’s magical spells took the first four wickets, leaving Punjab Kings at 14 runs. However, Ashutosh Sharma came to the crease and showcased a fiery 64-run innings, including 7 sixes and 2 fours, but it wasn’t enough to chase down the target. Eventually, Mumbai Indians managed to restrict Punjab Kings to 183 runs in 19.1 overs.
