BCCI punishes Hardik Pandya after Mumbai Indians’ win over Punjab Kings

Hardik Pandya was fined INR 12 lakh for the slow overrate offence against the Punjab Kings. For the first time in the 17th season, the Mumbai Indians were found guilty of not completing the over on time, and captain Hardik was penalized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

MI were two overs short at the end of the allotted time. The five-time champions could place only four fielders instead of five outside the thirty-yard circle.

If Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai commits the offence in two more matches of the ongoing season, the Baroda-based player will be banned for one game. He will also be fined INR 24 lakh for the second slow overrate penalty.
