On Monday, March 4, Sunrisers Hyderabad appointed their recent-buy Pat Cummins as the new captain for IPL 2024. The 2016 IPL winners have sacked Aiden Markram from the post as he failed to do well with the side last year. In 2023, SRH finished last with just four wins in 14 games.
Notably, SRH bought Australian skipper for 20.50 crores in IPL 2024 auction, making him the second-most expensive buy in IPL history. Cummins had a wonderful 2023 as a leader. He led Australia to WTC title and also ICC World Cup 2023 trophy.
SRH took to Twitter to announce Cummins appointment as their next captain. “#OrangeArmy! Our new skipper Pat Cummins.”
