Vishmi leads Under-19 women’s team in Bangladesh Tri-Series

Vishmi Gunaratne, the young opener of the women’s national team, will lead the Sri Lanka women’s under 19 team in the upcoming Tri-Nation series with Bangladesh and Pakistan, scheduled to be held next week in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Vishmi hailing from Ratnawali BMV Gampaha is the most experienced player in the team, having national team exposure.

The Sri Lanka Under-19 women’s team underwent thorough preparation under new coach Mahesh Weerasinghe while Umal Erandika serving as the assistant coach for the 15-member team.

Hemantha Devapriya, the chairman of the National Women’s Cricket Selection Committee, will accompany the team as the manager.

The team is pending approval from the Sports Ministry, and they are scheduled to depart on the 20th for the Tri-Nation tournament.
