It was a thrilling semi-final match between South Africa and Australia at Eden Gardens. South Africa elected to bat first and lost their wickets at regular intervals. However, David Miller’s essential knock (101) helped SA post 212 before being all out in 49.4 overs. Mitchell Starc and skipper Pat Cummins took 3 wickets for AUS.
In reply, Travis Head and David Warner built a 60-run partnership before Warner fell to Aiden Markram. Everyone thought Glenn Maxwell would contribute superbly to the semis, as he did in the previous game, but he was out for just 1 run to Tabraiz Shamsi. However, SA bowlers showcased their brilliance in the last overs by delivering dot balls, but the AUS skipper and Mitchell Starc finished the game with 16 balls to spare. Eventually, Australia will face India in the final on 19th November.
