SL v PAK : ASIA CUP, MATCH 11 – Sri Lanka will face India in the finals

The match was thrilling from start to finish. In the final two overs, Sri Lanka needed 12 runs. Shaheen Shah Afridi removed two wickets in a row in the 41st over, keeping Pakistan’s hopes alive. However, Charith Asalanka was the savior of the Sri Lankan team, scoring the final two runs on the last ball. Sadeera Samarawickrama and Kusal Mendis built a brilliant 100-run partnership in just 98 balls before Sadeera got out for 48. Kusal scored 91 runs with 8 fours and one six.

Earlier, PAK skipper Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first. The match was delayed due to rain, and overs were reduced to 42. Mohammad Rizwan’s unbeaten 86 (73) helped PAK post a total of 252/7 runs in 42 overs. Matheesha Pathirana was the standout bowler for Sri Lanka as he removed Abdullah Shafique (52 off 69), Mohammad Haris (3 off 9), and Iftikhar Ahmed (47 off 40). Sri Lanka will face India on September 17th in the finals.
