Musaeus College, HFC Kurunegala, Maliyadeva Balika Kurunegala and HFC Kalutara excelled to reach pre quarter final stage of the 30th Milo Schools Netball tournament which is now in progress at Polonnaruwa Gallella Public grounds.
Over 500 school netball players are competing at age groups of under 13,15,17 and under 19 while up to pre quarter finals already finished and quarter finals, semi finals and finals will be played today (4). Most of the top teams who were performed well last Milo tournament at Wennappuwa once again came to the fore while most of the teams are competing at under 13 A and B divisions at the tournament.
Nirodha Abeywickrama the President of Sri Lanka Schools Netball Association said this is good opportunity for juniors and to unearth talent from this tournament which sponsored by Nestle Lanka Pvt Ltd.
Bernhard Stefan Managing director of Nestle Lanka PLC will be the chief guest today while Bandula Egodage and Ruwan Welikala the Vice President of Nestle Lanka will will grace this occasion. The champion runners up of each group and individual awards best shooter, best defender, best centre quart players of each group will receive awards today at the presentation ceremony.
