CSK vs LSG, MATCH 06 – TATA IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings wins their first match in TATA IPL 2023 by 12 runs against Lucknow Super Giants

KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, won the toss and decided to bowl first. For CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 57 runs from 31 balls with four sixes and three fours, while Devon Conway scored 47 runs from 29 balls with the help of two sixes. CSK posted a target of 217 runs for seven wickets. LSG bowler Mark Wood took three wickets for 49 runs.

Chasing the target, LSG opening batter Kyle Mayers gave a good start to the match by scoring 53 runs in just 22 balls, but CSK bowler Moeen Ali stopped him by taking four wickets for 26 runs. However, LSG could only score 205 runs, losing seven wickets in 20 overs in response to CSK’s 217/7. CSK won their first match in the TATA IPL 2023 by 12 runs.
