DG appointed to BOD in Asian Boxing Confederation

Dian Gomes  has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors in the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) at the ASBC Extraordinary Congress held yesterday (12th ) in Amman, Jordan for four year term.

Dian  is currently an Executive Committee member of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and also a  member of the Board of Directors of the International Boxing Association (IBA), the supreme and most prestigious global association dedicated to Boxing.

Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand was elected as the President of ASBC to lead the 44 countries in the Asian region.

Being the current President of Sri Lanka Boxing,  and became the first Sri Lankan to be appointed to the Commonwealth Advisory Board of Sports in 2014 and also the first Sri Lankan to be appointed to the Executive Committee of the Asian Boxing Federation in 2019. He has served in the world body first as a member of the Finance Commission, the marketing commission and the women’s commission.

He has now been appointed as a member of the newly reformed Board of Directors of the Asian Body, where he is the first Sri Lankan to represent the country for this prestigious body for the second consecutive term; a leap for Sri Lanka in the World and Asian Policy making body of Boxing.
