Jadeja Stars In Chennai SuperKings Win Over RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered their first defeat in five matches as they were humiliatingly beaten by the Chennai Super Kings, while match hero Ravindra Jadeja produced an excellent performance like never seen before in the IPL in Mumbai on Sunday.

Faced with a 192 target the Royal Challengers were restricted to just 122 for 9 in the 20 overs unable to come to grips with Jadeja who bowled out potential match winners Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers after he slammed an unbeaten 62 in only 28 balls for the Super Kings.

It was Jadeja versus the Royal Challengers who thought they had the match in the bag until the left hand batsman entered the crease and took the Super Kings from 142 for 4 in 17.3 overs to 191 for 4 in the balance 15 balls.

Jadeja clouted four fours and five sixes for his unbeaten 62 as his captain and partner at the other end MS Dhoni looked on as a mere spectator.

His innings marked the turning point in the match from which the Royal Challengers could not recover as they appeared to look demoralised from the moment they took up the run chase.

The writing was on the wall as Virat Kohli was the first to be sent back caught behind after edging a ball from paceman Sam Curran for just eight runs.
But Jadeja had not finished playing his part and given the ball he first terminated a promoted Washington Sundar for 7 and then accounted for the prized scalps of Maxwell for 22 and De Villiers for 4.

He also blasted out Dan Christian with a direct throw to have the batsman run-out for one run and the Royal Challengers had lost all their power hitters who had to perform if they were to chase down the 192 target.

Jadeja finished with figures of 3 for 13 from his four overs and was easily the undisputed man of the match.

Chennai Super Kings 191 for 4 in 20 overs (Faf du Plessis 50, Ravindra Jadeja 62 not out)
Royal Challengers 122 for 9 in 20 overs (Ravindra Jadeja 3 for 13)
