Asantha de Mel has resigned as the Chairman of the Selection Committee

Asantha de Mel has resigned as the Chairman of the Selection Committee of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.

As the Sri Lankan team continued to suffer defeats as well as deteriorating discipline, opposition to Mr. Mel arose on social media. Due to this situation, Mr. Mel resigned from his post of manager last week and has decided to resign from the post of chairman of the selection committee today.

Asantha de Mel has played 17 Tests and 57 ODIs for Sri Lanka.
