Devanandians dominate Ambalangoda two-mile sea swim championship

Devananda College Ambalangoda dominated the annual All Island two-mile sea swim concluded recently at Ambalangoda. Devanandinas won the first three places at the boys’ category while girls second and third places also won by Devanandians to show their power at this two-mile sea swim which organised by the Madampa MMV sports body for the eighth consecutive years.
Hashen Dilshan of Devananda won the first place at the boys’ category while his college mates  Pasidu Kaushalya and Bigadu Hansala won the second and third places respectively. Meanwhile, H. L. Kaushalya Yoshani of Gintota MV emerged champion at the girls’ category while Devanandians Sanjani Aksha and Shehara Anuhansi won the second and third places. Retired Navy officer 60-year-old K. Karunaratna won the over 40 men’s category. This time  207 boys and 55 girls have participated in this two-mile sea swim. Mohan P. de Silva the State Minister was the chief guest at the starting point of the 2-mile sea swim.
