Rahula College Matara and Lyceum International school Nugegoda emerged boys and girls champions at the ‘A’ division of the Under 11 Interschool Badminton Tournament conducted by the North-Western Province Badminton Association held at Kurunegala Welagedera Indoor Stadium and Boyagane Army Indoor Stadium recently.
The tournament conducted during three days with a record number of 104 schools divided A to E sections competed for the championships. The tournament was successfully organised by the North-Western Province Badminton Association with the support of Sri Lanka Badminton Association
.Matara Rahula team defeated St Sebastian Moratuwa team to win the ‘A’ division championship while Lyceum Nugegoda beat Musaeus College Colombo to win the ‘A’ division women’s champions. Sri Lanka Badminton Association Vice President Parakrama Basnayaje was the Chief Guest and gave away the awards while senior officials of the North Western Province Badminton Association also graced this occasion.
