WPAC2019- Sri Lankan sprinters could not progress beyond heats

Three Sri Lankan sprinters were in action on the fourth day of the World Para Athletics Championship in Dubai but could not progress beyond the heats

Sri Lankan Trio took part in Men’s T44/T64 100m sprint and A. G. Chuladasa who ran the in the first heat able to record his personal best timing with a time of 12.66 seconds even though he cross the line as the seventh position. Germany’s Johaness Floor (T62) finished this heat with a world record time of 10.54 and qualified to the finals.

Nuwan Indika was the Sri Lankan athlete who ran in the second heat and could not make any impact to the final list even he maanaged to cross the line as third athlete with a time of 12.12 seconds

Asian double gold medalist Amila Prashan who won both 100m and 200m in T-42 category in Jakarta managed to finish third in the last heat with a time of 12.81 but it was not enough to put his name in the final’s list.

The first two in each heat and the next two fastest qualify for the finals.
