Sri Lanka into beach volleyball finals in World Military Games

Sri Lanka Army Beach Volleyball team performed well to be qualified for the final round in the seventh World Military Games which is underway in Wuhan, China. Lankan men’s team comprising Cpl Tiron Jayathileka and Cpl Sanuja Jayaan entered the final round beating strong teams including Germany, Switzerland and Nepal. The final round will have the top 16 teams battling for supremacy.

Altogether 141 countries are participating at this year’s World Military Games and it is a great achievement by the Sri Lankan beach volleyball team to qualify for the final round.

Lankan team have two more matches against Brazil and Iran even though they have already qualified for the final round. Sri Lanka has fielded two men’s teams and a women’s team for the beach volleyball event.
