As part of the initiative to reclaim the South Asian Football Championship after three decades, the Sri Lanka football team secured a 3-0 victory in an international friendly match against Seychelles yesterday.
In the match held at the Stade Linité in Victoria, Seychelles, the first half ended 1-0 after Adhavan Rajamohan successfully converted a penalty in the 45th minute.
Raja Mohan scored the second goal via a free-kick in the 52nd minute, while Dillon de Silva netted the third goal for Sri Lanka in the 76th minute.
The second match against Seychelles is scheduled for the 30th of this month; following this, the Sri Lankan team will travel to Mauritius, where the first and second matches are set to take place on the 2nd and 5th of next month, respectively, at the international football stadium in the Mauritian capital.
These two international friendly matches have been organized based on a concept by Sri Lanka Football President Mr. Jaswar Umar, as part of their latest promotional campaign, the ‘Win SAFF Again’ program.
