Dambulla Sixers today confirmed that the franchise will continue under the ownership of DeSilva Holdings, led by Priyanga De Silva, ahead of Lanka Premier League Sixth Edition.
The franchise is supported by Sequoia Consultants, Inc., a leading civil engineering consulting firm headquartered in Los Angeles, California, where De Silva serves as CEO and President. The majority stake in Sequoia Consultants is owned by De Silva, a Chartered Civil Engineer and entrepreneur with business interests in both the United States and Sri Lanka.
A former First-Class cricketer, De Silva represented Sri Lanka Under-19 in 1983 and currently plays for the United States Masters Over-60 Cricket Team. He also volunteers as Head Coach of the not-for-profit Southern California Youth Cricket Association, reflecting his long-standing commitment to cricket development and youth engagement.
Welcoming the franchise’s continued ownership, Lanka Premier League Director, Samantha Dodanwela said, “Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to have Dambulla Sixers continue under the leadership of Priyanga De Silva. His background as a former cricketer, entrepreneur and supporter of youth cricket brings valuable depth to the franchise. Dambulla remains an important part of the LPL, and this continued stability will support the league’s progress as a competitive and commercially sustainable T20 platform.”
