In the 11th match of LPL 2023 between Dambulla Aura & Jaffna Kings, Jaffna Kings won the toss and invited DBA to bat first. DBA lost their first 2 wickets in the opening over. Sadeera Samarawickrama and Kusal Perera scored 30 and 41 runs respectively. However, while facing the spells of the JK bowlers, DBA could only score 134/8 within their allocated 20 overs. Nuwan Thushara and Shoaib Malik each secured 2 wickets for JK.
Chasing the easy target, JK surprisingly lost their wickets early in the innings. Shoaib Malik then entered the game and contributed an unbeaten 74 runs from 53 balls. Despite his efforts, JK could only manage to score 125/7 in their 20 overs. Eventually, DBA won by 9 runs against JK.
