Sri Lanka started the day under pressure after losing two early wickets. But Pasindu Sooriyabandara played a strong innings of 80, while Sonal Dinusha stayed unbeaten on 85. Their partnership helped Sri Lanka recover and cross 250 runs.
India’s bowlers kept fighting. Prasidh Krishna took 3 wickets, while Manav Suthar also claimed 3. Ravindra Jadeja took 1 wicket, and Mohammed Siraj took 1.
Rain stopped play with Sri Lanka at 265/8 after 83.4 overs. Sonal remained unbeaten on 85, with Lahiru Kumara on 8.
Sri Lanka will need a big effort on Day 4 to close the 238 run gap.
