MHA-JXG 9-A-Side Hockey Tournament 2026 Set for 22nd August at Astro Turf, Colombo

The MHA-JXG 9-A-Side Hockey Tournament 2026, proudly sponsored by Janashakthi Group, will take place on 22nd August 2026 at the Astro Turf, Colombo 07, bringing together some of Sri Lanka’s leading corporate hockey teams for an exciting day of competitive action.

This will be the sixth edition of the Mercantile Hockey Association’s 9-A-Side Hockey Tournament, continuing the MHA’s tradition of promoting and developing hockey within Sri Lanka’s corporate sector.

In the 5th edition, Hatton National Bank triumphed over Sampath Bank in the A Division final to be crowned champions. In the B Division final, Browns & Company defeated Hayleys, while in the C Division, Nations Trust Bank emerged victorious over David Pieris Motor Company.

The 2026 edition will feature 16 teams competing across three divisions. The A Division will feature Seylan Bank, Hatton National Bank, Sampath Bank – A, Commercial Bank, Hayleys and MAS Holdings.

The B Division will see CIAP, Nations Trust Bank and Browns & Company competing for the title.

The C Division will feature David Pieris Motor Company, John Keells Holdings, Singer (Sri Lanka), Future Life Holdings, Hemas Holdings, InQube Global and Sampath Bank – B.

The tournament promises a full day of competitive corporate hockey, bringing together players from leading organizations, including national-level players and emerging talents.
The tournament will commence at 8.30 a.m., with live coverage available on the Mercantile Hockey Association Facebook Page and the Sri Lankan Sports TV YouTube Channel, allowing hockey fans across the country to follow the action throughout the day.

The Mercantile Hockey Association invites all hockey lovers, sports enthusiasts and supporters to join them at the Astro Turf, Colombo 07, on 22nd August and witness an exciting day of hockey.
