Sri Lankan players secured their second victory in the preliminary round of the men's volleyball tournament organized by the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) yesterday.
In the match held yesterday in Islamabad, Pakistan, the Sri Lankan team achieved a comfortable 3-0 victory over Kazakhstan. Sri Lanka won the first set 25-22, followed by victories in the second and third sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-20, respectively.
After winning their preliminary round match against Nepal 3–2, the Sri Lankan team suffered defeats against hosts Pakistan (3–0) and Uzbekistan (3–1). In this six-team tournament, the top four teams in the standings qualify for the semi-finals; as of yesterday, Sri Lanka held fourth place with 4 points.
