Harshita and Imesha lead Sri Lanka to victory

Harshitha Samarawickrama's quickfire half-century and Imesha Dulani's best T20 innings helped Sri Lanka women to a 25-run victory over Bangladesh in the first T20I match played yesterday.

With this, Sri Lanka also took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
Batting first in the match held in Sylhet, Sri Lanka scored 161 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, while Bangladesh women's players, who played the reply innings, could only score 136 runs for the loss of 7 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
Shorna Akter tried to lead the team to victory by scoring a maiden T20 half-century, but it failed. She was dismissed off the last ball of the innings after scoring 60 runs in 45 balls. Mithali Ayodhya, who made her international debut in this match, took 2 wickets, while captain Chamari Atapattu and Malki Madara took 2 wickets each.
The second T20I between the two teams will be played tomorrow (30) in Sylhet.
