Another face in the race for the Olympic Federation presidency

n addition to the four candidates who have already entered the fray for the post of President of the Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee this year, another new face has joined the election for the post.

That is Rohan Preethi Viraj Perera, a member of the Canoe and Kayak Association.
The candidates for the position of President in this year's Olympic elections are Jaswar Umar, the current Vice President and Vice President of the Sri Lanka National Shooting Sports Federation, Shirantha Peiris, the current Vice President and President of the Ski and Snowboard Federation, Deva Henry, and the President of the Baseball Association, Asanga Seneviratne.
Although there are 32 registered sports associations within the National Olympic Committee, the number of valid voters has been limited to 28 due to the ongoing crises in the gymnastics, table tennis, boxing and cycling associations. The receipt of nominations for the National Olympic Committee elections ended at 4 pm on the 11th, and the receipt of objections regarding nominations will end today.
The election committee, including former Supreme Court Judge K.T. Chithrasiri, will conduct the election, while the other members of the committee are Harsha Amarasena and Piyasena Ranasinghe. The Olympic election is scheduled to be held on the 25th of this month at 4 pm at the Olympic House.
